Mind-Body Connection

Our physical health can’t be separated from our mental and emotional health.

Our experience of ourselves is an integrated one in which our bodies influence our minds and hearts — and vice versa.

When living with chronic illness, we are challenged not only to follow our treatment plans and maintain the health of our bodies but also to manage the effects of our physical symptoms on our thoughts, feelings, families, relationships, careers, and more.

If you’ve been recently diagnosed or have been living with an autoimmune disease or chronic illness, you’re well aware that the work of caring for yourself extends far beyond your treatment plan and that your symptoms extend beyond your physical body.

How do you…

Navigate the world, your career, your relationships, with a condition that most people can’t see or understand?

Follow your doctor’s advice without going down a rabbit hole of trying to be the perfect patient and feeling suffocated by all of these new “rules” you have to follow?

Learn to accept your diagnosis + condition without it taking over your life and becoming your entire identity?

Respond to the inevitable anxiety that accompanies your new relationship with your body and your symptoms?

Relate to the people in your life who care for you the most without becoming “the sick one” or “the illness warrior”?

Find the support and answers that just aren’t covered during your 15-minute doctor’s appointments?
